I will do an examination of one specific battle; the crusade of Mantinea battled in the year 362 B.C.E. To do this I initially should uncover a portion of the key players in this battle, particularly Epaminondas. Epaminondas, a Theban general, was accused of the undertaking to make the Peloponnese as powerless as could be expected under the circumstances so they may overwhelm it with the least obstruction. To do this the Thebans must play the two sides of the war.
